48 Hours in Burswood: The Crown Perth Weekend Itinerary

Friday evening: arrival done right

A 6pm airport pickup puts you at the porte-cochère by 6:20 with bags handled. Check-in, thirty minutes in the room, then downstairs. Friday dinner should be a signature — Nobu if the reservation exists, Guillaume's terrace if the weather does.

After dinner, an orientation lap of the gaming floor with a drink — not a session, a survey. Note which tables and machines appeal for tomorrow night, then sleep before midnight. Saturday is the point of the trip.

Saturday morning: the river side

Breakfast at Epicurean before 8:30, then outside — the Swan River foreshore path runs directly past the complex and the morning light is the best Perth offers. A forty-minute walk or the hotel bikes; this is the hour that keeps a casino weekend honest.

Back for a late-morning spa block — the 90-minute signature ritual if you planned ahead — or the pool deck if the season is right. Lunch somewhere casual; the evening is heavy enough.

“

A great Crown weekend is 80 percent sequencing. The same ingredients in the wrong order is just an expensive blur.

Saturday night: the main event

If there is a show, the Crown Theatre curtain is your spine: dinner at 5:45, seats by 7:20, encore and a short walk back. If the night is gaming instead, dinner later at 7:30, then the floor in the proper evening hours when the room has energy.

Set the play budget before dinner. The people enjoying the floor at 11pm are the ones who already decided what the evening costs.

Saturday night: the main event

Sunday: the slow version

Sleep in — late checkout is worth requesting for exactly this reason. Breakfast in the room or a late Epicurean sitting, then a final swim or a drive to Fremantle for lunch by the water before the airport run.

The mistake is over-scheduling Sunday. A Crown weekend ends best early and unhurried, with the transfer arriving while the lobby still smells like coffee.

Concierge tip Book the Friday dinner, Saturday spa and Sunday late checkout as one bundle — they are the three pieces that sell out independently.

What to change for your version

With kids: swap Friday's casino lap for the pool and room service, and structure Saturday around family deck time — the precinct does families better than its reputation suggests.

For a celebration trip, move the signature dinner to Saturday and add the private salon enquiry or the theatre seats — whichever the guest of honour will remember in five years.

Reader questions

The questions this article raises most often, answered briefly. More coverage lives on the FAQ page.

Two days covers the essentials comfortably — one signature dinner, one spa block, one show or gaming evening, and the pool. A third day adds the Swan Valley or Rottnest, which is when the trip becomes a proper holiday.
Easily. The restaurants, theatre, pools and spa carry a full weekend alone — a meaningful share of Crown's guests never touch a table.
Weekend rooms book 4–8 weeks out normally and much further around stadium events and headline shows. Dinners and spa follow the same curve — earlier is always cheaper and better.
